Experieces
Beer 101
A broad introduction to famous beer styles from around the world. You’ll learn proper tasting techniques, beer history, and a bit about the ingredients of each beer that we taste.

Region/Country Specific Style
A focused tasting of beers from a region or country of your choosing. Learn the history of beers from this area, and compare and contrast the prominent styles of beer found there. Possibilities include: Traditional German Beers, The Many Beers of Belgium, Beers from the British Isles, Uniquely American Beers.
Beer for Wine Lovers
If you’re a beer-curious wine drinker, this one’s for you. We’ll explore a handful of beer styles that have cross-over appeal for wine lovers. This one will include some sour beers – don’t be scared, they’re delicious!

Learn to Homebrew
Have you thought about dipping your toes into the world of brewing but don’t know where to start? I’ll arrange to have you spend a half-day brewing with an award-winning local homebrewer. You’ll learn the basics about ingredients, recipe formulation and equipment. This experience is perfect for one or two people at a time.
Bad, Bad Beer
Are you already a knowledgeable beer drinker, but you’d like to learn about what makes a bad beer? We’ll explore common off-flavors in beer, what causes them and how to identify them. For example, how does beer get skunked? And what is that buttery flavor that seems out of place? Don’t worry, we’ll end on a positive note with some delicious, flawless beer.

Online tastings?
Yes, we can do that! Though we prefer to offer beer tastings in person, it’s certainly possible to do them online. There may be some logistical challenges getting beer to all your participants if they’re geographically dispersed, but we can figure this out.
What people are saying…
Sandy facilitated a beer tasting for my husband and me in the spring of 2022. It was by far the most fun and educational beer tasting I have ever experienced. Sandy’s knowledge of the history, culture, and science of beer is extensive, and her delivery is relaxed and adaptable to beer tasters’ interests. I came away understanding not only what I was tasting but also how to taste beer in the first place. I wholeheartedly recommend Sandy for both her expertise and her friendly approach to sharing that expertise.
